Dr Starkey is a leading UK historian, author, broadcaster, and political commentator.
He has written numerous books on history including on his specialisation the Tudors, as well as written and presented a number of TV documentaries covering the Monarchy, Churchill, and Henry VIII. He was also a contributor to Channel 4’s Jamie’s Dream School.
In the political sphere, he was a regular guest on Radio 4’s The Moral Maze and BBC Question Time, where he gained a reputation as “the rudest man in Britain.” David now hosts his own YouTube channel covering politics and history which regularly receives hundreds of thousands of hits, in addition to regular TV appearances on GB News and elsewhere.
Recently, he has been speaking on the future of the Conservative Party and conservatism. In particular how the Conservative Party can use lessons from history to avoid the the fate of many now-defunct centre-right parties across the Western world.
His talk promises to be a lively and informative one, which we would be delighted if you could join us for on the evening of Saturday 1st March 2025. Details are yet to be finalised but the event will be held within the Keighley and Ilkley constituency.
